“Myths” About the Black Plague or Black Death that May Be Right

    Black Plague was one of the most fatalistic pandemics ever experienced by people. It started to spread in Europe and Asia, and slowly it reached every nook and corner of the world. Black plague is also known as the Black Death. Almost around 75-200 million people died of this plague. The epidemic started to form between 1347 and 1351.

    what is the black deathIn the month of October in Europe, the Black Death came as a curse in 12 ships of sailors coming from the black sea and halted at the Sicilian port of Messina. Of all the sailors on the vessel, most of them were found dead or infected with some unknown disease, which later became known as the black death. All of the sailors had black boils all over their bodies. The main spread started from here, and the slowly whole world was under this black death. The black plague was caused by the infection called Bacterium Yersinia pestis.

    Symptoms of Black Death

    The Black Death starts with a viral fever, then in the body, some black boils emerges. Blood and white fluids begin to come out from the bumps and swells up. With all these symptoms, the person starts vomiting, has diarrhea, a colossal pain in a different part of the body. Then slowly, the person dies.

Both the epidemics share a common symptom. But the bubonic plague‘s causes is the rodents and the flies which stick to their bodies, so there is a massive difference between both of them. A bacteria causes black plague, and bubonic plague comes from an animal called rodent.

Later it was known as Bubonic plague, which got originated from rodents or rats like animals.
